 Covenant Productions visited South Africa as
part of a documentary entitle "Africa in the '90s" for the Missionary Board of
the Church of God (Anderson, IN).
We found ourselves in South Africa just after apartheid was lifted. Of
course, not much had changed. In Durban, we stayed with an Indian family and became the
spectacle of the neighborhood. In Cape Town we visited Table Rock with our guide, a Black
pastor. He brought his family with him. When asked how often he visited the park, he
replied that this was his first trip. Persons of his race had been forbidden to visit the
beautiful plateau above the city. We're thankful apartheid is no longer the law of his
land.
